During a press conference Friday, President Donald Trump revealed sweeping crackdowns on crime, such as those seen in Washington DC, are coming to a city near you.
Speaking to reporters inside the Oval Office, Trump commented on DC’s increased safety since ordering joint law enforcement squads to patrol the nation’s capital, saying he’d like to see similar results in other US cities.
“We’ll do what we have to. And after we do this, we’ll go to another location and we’ll make it safe also,” Trump said adding, “Chicago is a mess.”

“You have an incompetent mayor, grossly incompetent, and we’ll straighten that one out probably next. That’ll be our next one after this. And it won’t even be tough,” Trump said.
The president went on to say black people in Chicago have been asking him to straighten out the Windy City.
“African-American ladies, beautiful ladies are saying, ‘Please President Trump come to Chicago, please.’ I did great with the black vote, as you know, and they want something to happen.”
To date, Chicago has seen 254 homicides in 2025, a decrease from previous years, but far higher than most US cities.
Trump said after Chicago, his administration is looking at cleaning up crime in his old stomping grounds of New York City, adding some reporters in the room with him agree because they’ve likely been victims of muggings.
Vice President J.D. Vance chimed in that the administration is also considering launching operations in Los Angeles, Calif.
The president’s comments come as his DC crackdown has culminated in a benchmark of 0 homicides over the past seven days.
