Work visas for commercial truck drivers will no longer be issued as of Thursday afternoon, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced, saying the policy is “endangering Americans” following a deadly accident on the Florida Turnpike caused by an illegal alien earlier this month.

“Effective immediately we are pausing all issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers,” Rubio declared on X Thursday afternoon.

“The increasing number of foreign drivers operating large tractor-trailer trucks on U.S. roads is endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers,” he added.

Rubio’s announcement followed a big rig accident on the Florida Turnpike on Aug. 12 that left three Americans dead after Punjabi illegal alien Harjinder Singh, who had obtained a CDL in California, attempted to make an abrupt illegal u-turn, blocking the roadway with his truck’s trailer as a minivan sped straight towards it, unable to avoid impact.

As Infowars explained earlier this week, the accident can be blamed on the Biden administration’s Trucking Action Plan, which sought to “streamline CDL trainings to get more drivers on the road,” but only succeeded at flooding U.S. roadways with more foreign, non-English-speaking truckers, driving wages down and tarnishing the previously lucrative industry once primarily dominated by white drivers.

The accident also spotlighted issues with truck driver training schools for foreigners, which receive government funding, but often cut corners in efforts to quickly put more drivers on the road.

The secretary of state’s declaration comes as the Trump administration announced it will be reviewing all 55 million visas issued to foreigners, 5 million of which have been issued to Indians.

Rubio told Face The Nation over the weekend the review would likely revoke visas from “groups that are friendly with Hamas,” the Palestinian terror group in conflict with Israeli forces in Gaza.
