President Trump was asked during a Thursday flight on Air Force One to provide a comment about recent remarks by ex-President Barack Obama, who said “aliens are real.”
“Have you seen any evidence of non-human visitors to Earth?” asked Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy.
POTUS responded, “He gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that.”
Doocy replied, “So, aliens are real?”
Trump answered, “Well, I don’t know if they’re real or not. I can tell you he gave classified information. He’s not supposed to be doing that. He made a big mistake. He took it out of classified information. No, I don’t have an opinion on it. I never talk about it. A lot of people do. A lot of people believe it.”
“Do you believe it Peter?” the president asked the White House correspondent.
When Doocy pointed out the president can declassify anything he wants, Trump said, “Well, maybe I’ll get him [Obama] out of trouble. I may get him out of trouble by declassifying.”
Obama recently told podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen aliens are real, but claimed he never saw any and that there aren’t any being held at Area 51.
“There’s no underground facility — unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States,” he said.
Obama later attempted to water down his comment, saying the remarks were made in “the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify.”
“Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there,” Obama said in a comment on Instagram.
Earlier this month, Missouri Rep. Eric Burlison (R) claimed during an appearance on the ALN Podcast that President Trump is preparing to acknowledge extraterrestrials have visited our planet and that the American government has recovered alien materials and craft.
