
Several people were injured when a helicopter crashed in a California beach town on Saturday, according to reports.
The harrowing incident unfolded just after 2 p.m. in Huntington Beach, KTLA reports.
A chopper was seen flying low near the site of Cars ‘N Copters on the Coast, an event scheduled to take place on Sunday.
Beachgoers watched in horror as the helicopter suddenly spiraled out of control and plunged toward the ground.
Witness videos of the crash have been circulating on social media.
The rotocraft slammed into several palm trees and a structure at Hyatt Regency Hotel, located on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Footage appears to show an object fly off the helicopter before it crashed.
Two people inside the helicopter were pulled from the wreckage and taken to hospital.
Three people on the ground were also injured and hospitalized.
An investigation is ongoing.
This was the second helicopter wreck this week in California.
On Monday, a medical chopper crashed on a highway in Sacramento after experiencing an “in-air emergency.”
The pilot, a paramedic, and a nurse inside the helicopter were injured, while miraculously no one on the highway sustained injuries.
