Two illegal aliens who were released into the U.S. as ‘unaccompanied minors’ by the Biden regime have been arrested for a broad-daylight shooting on a Virginia highway this week, authorities say.
The harrowing incident unfolded at around 5 p.m. on Sunday in Hanover County.
Police were alerted about shots fired on Interstate 295 near Richmond, WTVR reports.
A Hanover County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a silver BMW carrying the suspects northbound on I-295 and initiated a pursuit that was joined by Virginia State Police.
Two 17-year-old suspects were taken into custody after crashing in a residential neighborhood.
They were charged with shooting from a vehicle, possession of a firearm under age 18, possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, and reckless handling of a firearm.
Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged detainers against both suspects with the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center in Williamsburg, VA.
The teens are both citizens of Honduras who illegally entered the U.S. in 2022 and were freed into the interior.
“These criminal illegal alien thugs whipped around in their BMW with complete neglect for the safety of Virginians when they decided to open fire on an interstate highway,” said Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“These illegal aliens were released unvetted by the Biden Administration into our country. ICE lodged an arrest detainer to ensure these public safety threats are not released back onto Virginia’s roads. We are not going to allow criminal illegal aliens to terrorize American citizens.”
