A woman in Texas was arrested after an unhinged outburst at a city council meeting where she scolded members for not providing face masks, soiling herself as she was dragged off by officers.
The incident unfolded Tuesday in Corpus Christi, where a woman named Heather Shields, 45, commandeered the podium and ranted about the necessity for masks amid a Covid-19 wave.
“Hello, I’m none of the above. My name is Heather. I’ve been here before. Everyone needs to have their mask on. If you love your community, put your mask on. You’re the city manager. You should have had masks for everybody. There is COVID going around right now. You do not care about the city,” the woman said, while council members alerted the mayor she wasn’t scheduled to speak.

Here’s a YouTube version:
The woman, who wasn’t wearing a mask, next condemned members of the gallery, exclaiming, “Don’t tell me to shush!”
“Everyone needs to have their masks on and everyone that does not have their mask on…” she trailed off, as two officers came to escort her away.
Once off-camera, the woman who claimed to be a veteran could be heard yelling, “Don’t put your hands on me. These bastards are putting their hands,” before shouting, “Indigenous sovereignty. Black sovereignty.Ah, they’re hurting me. I’m peeing myself. I’m peeing myself.”
“Shortly after, the Corpus Christi Fire Department arrived at City Hall to ensure the woman taken into custody was okay,” reported local NBC affiliate KRIS 6 News.
Shields, who was charged with disrupting a meeting or procession and for resisting arrest, search, or transportation according to KRIS, was one of three people arrested at the meeting.
The contentious council meeting comes as Corpus Christi faces a severe drought, with the council on Tuesday ultimately voting down the prospect of continuing to fund a desalination plant to the tune of $1.2 billion after the city had already made tens of millions of dollars in investments in the project.
