Image Credit: x screenshot President Donald Trump on Saturday reacted to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) resignation announcement, telling reporters his contention with her was mainly because she aligned herself with Congressman Thomas Massie (R-Ky.).
“Are you willing to forgive Congresswoman Taylor Greene?” a reporter asked Trump on the White House lawn outside of Marine One.
“Forgive for what?” the president asked, adding, “I just disagreed with her philosophy.

Q: Are you willing to forgive Greene?
TRUMP: "For what? I just disagreed with her. She started backing perhaps the worst GOP⌠pic.twitter.com/PfTXJSNk6m
“She started backing perhaps the worst GOP congressman in our history, you know a stupid person named MASSIE. And I said, ‘Go your own way,’ and once I left her, she resigned, because she would never have survived a primary.”
“But I think she’s a nice person,” he added.
President Trump’s remarks came as he fired off a blistering Truth Social post earlier in the morning excoriating Rep. Marjorie “Traitor Brown” for the same reason, just hours after she announced her imminent resignation.

Via Truth Social:
Marjorie âTraitorâ Brown, because of PLUMMETING Poll Numbers, and not wanting to face a Primary Challenger with a strong Trump Endorsement (where she would have no chance of winning!), has decided to call it âquits.â Her relationship with the WORST Republican Congressman in decades, Tom Massie of Kentucky, also known as Rand Paul Jr. because he votes against the Republican Party (and really good legislation!), did not help her. For some reason, primarily that I refused to return her never ending barrage of phone calls, Marjorie went BAD. Nevertheless, I will always appreciate Marjorie, and thank her for her service to our Country! President DJT
Immediately following MTGâs announcement Friday night, Trump reportedly commented her resignation was âgreat news for the country.â
Just spoke with Pres. Trump on the phone. He said @RepMTG resigning is "great news from the country."

"I think it's great news for the country. It's great," the president said.
I asked if she gave him any heads up.
"Nah, it doesn't matter, you know but I think it's great. IâŚ
While MTG was a devout MAGA loyalist, she recently split with GOP leadership by promoting Rep. Massie’s bipartisan discharge petition urging a full release of the Epstein files, which eventually got full congressional support and was signed by Trump himself.
In a lengthy message Friday explaining her reasons for leaving Congress, Rep. Greene listed numerous contentions with Republicans, including with their handling of the recent government shutdown, Americaâs affordability crisis, and Trumpâs support of H-1B visas.

She also took issue with Trump’s personal attacks against her – which she has blamed for recent death threats – saying, âLoyalty should be a two way street and we should be able to vote our conscience and represent our districtâs interest because our job title is literally, âRepresentative.'”
