The incident unfolded during a presidential announcement unveiling plans to cut the cost of weight-loss drugs, when Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay collapsed behind the president as Eli Lilly CEO Dave Ricks took the podium.
Here’s another angle:
The president had just announced a drop on obesity drug prices from $1,350 to $50 and deals with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to build plants in the United States.
In a statement, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Findlay was OK.
“During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted. The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay. The Press Conference will resume shortly,” Leavitt said.
