A secret high-tech weapon dubbed “the Discombobulator” was essential to the raid that captured Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro, President Trump has revealed.
Trump gave an exclusive interview to The New York Post in the Oval Office and discussed the weapon.
He said the device “made [enemy] equipment not work” when US forces struck Maduro’s residence in Caracas and captured him without the loss of a single American life.
“The Discombobulator. I’m not allowed to talk about it,” Trump said.
“I would love to,” he added, describing how it was used in the operation.
“They never got their rockets off. They had Russian and Chinese rockets, and they never got one off. We came in, they pressed buttons and nothing worked. They were all set for us.”
President Trump spoke about the weapon when he was asked to address claims the US had used special directed-energy weapons to complete its mission.
Reports from Venezuela claimed Maduro’s soldiers fell to their knees and began vomiting blood during the raid and were unable to resist.
One soldier said “suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation.”
“The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react,” he said, before describing the appearance of eight US helicopters that dropped about 20 troops on the ground.
The soldier described how a weapon—which we now know was “the Discombobulator”—was deployed against him and his fellow soldiers.
“At one point, they launched something; I don’t know how to describe it. It was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside,” the witness said.
“We all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move. We couldn’t even stand up after that sonic weapon — or whatever it was.”
Venezuela’s former president is currently being held in a Brooklyn jail as he awaits trial on drug-trafficking charges.
