Netanyahu framed the quote to imply that the son of God, Jesus Christ, had no advantage over Mongolian warlord and rapist Genghis Khan.
“Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu’s full speech can be seen here:
Born in 1162, Khan became the head of the Mongol empire through military conquest and by spreading his genetic lineage by force:
Genghis Khan, born Temujin, had many wives and concubines, as was common for powerful Mongol men of that time. Wives and concubines were frequently acquired from conquered territory and sometimes defeated empire’s women, often princesses or queens, either taken captive or gifted to him, were enrolled as either his wives or concubines.
Genghis Khan gave high status to his several wives in their camps. Each camp also had junior wives, concubines and children. It was the job of Kheshig (Mongol imperial guard) to protect the yurts of his wives, but would pay special attention to yurt and camp in which Genghis Khan slept, which could change every night as he visited different wives.
When Genghis Khan set out on his military conquests, he usually took one wife with him and left the rest of his wives & concubines to manage the empire in his absence.
Genghis’s love life included raping and concubines.
According to Leftist news outlet Medium, Khan was a feminist who raped women.
A study published in 2003 detailed how 0.5% of the world’s male population (about 1% of the total world population) shares Khan’s DNA which was “spread by a novel form of social selection resulting from their behavior.”
We have identified a Y-chromosomal lineage with several unusual features. It was found in 16 populations throughout a large region of Asia, stretching from the Pacific to the Caspian Sea, and was present at high frequency: ∼8% of the men in this region carry it, and it thus makes up ∼0.5% of the world total. The pattern of variation within the lineage suggested that it originated in Mongolia ∼1,000 years ago. Such a rapid spread cannot have occurred by chance; it must have been a result of selection. The lineage is carried by likely male-line descendants of Genghis Khan, and we therefore propose that it has spread by a novel form of social selection resulting from their behavior.
The Iran war had already became a holy war prior to Netanyahu’s statements Thursday.
On March 4 talkshow host Tucker Carlson covered the holy war aspect of the Israeli/U.S. war on Iran. During the show, Carlson reported that Israeli IDF soldiers, a Jewish organization and Christian Zionists seek to build the Third Temple in Jerusalem – a structure whose existence, they believe, will help trigger end times prophecy.
On March 3 the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) published an email from an active duty military noncommissioned officer which claimed a U.S. military commander held a combat readiness status briefing on Monday in which they explained how President Donald Trump was appointed by God to bring in the end times prophecy of the Book of Revelation. This specific instance is not an isolated example however. The Foundation said it had received more than 200 similar complaints.
Following pushback by Christians, the Prime Minister said that he did not denigrate Jesus Christ:
More fake news about my attitude towards Christians, who are protected and flourish in Israel.
Let me be clear: I did not denigrate Jesus Christ at my news conference this evening.
To the contrary, I cited the great American historian Will Durant. A fervent admirer of Jesus Christ, Durant stated that morality by itself is not enough to ensure survival.
A morally superior civilization may still fall to a ruthless enemy if it does not have the power to defend itself. No offense was meant.
Social media users criticized the Prime Minister’s comments:
This quote by Netanyahu is offensive on multiple levels. It not only compares Jesus to Genghis Khan, but also suggests that the way of Jesus is naive, while a ruthless, “might makes right” approach—marked by relentless aggression—is what ultimately allows good to overcome evil.
Netanyahu, and his Christian Zionist supporters, are making a mockery of the ethics of Jesus. That is the true offense.
You called Christianity too weak to fight evil, as though suggesting we need a bloodthirsty Jewish ruling class to direct us toward more wars.

We know what we saw
Christ is King
How about you accept Jesus as the messiah and learn what his teaching are or you don’t invoke his name ever again.

What you did today was heresy.
You used our Lord and Saviors name to provoke violence and death upon innocents.
You are the master of deceit the king of lies.
Banishing them from their place where they have been living and worshipping at as long as Christianity has existed, is the new definition of flourishing? pic.twitter.com/WjEPy05SjZ
