Image Credit: PeopleImages / Getty The federal government arrested Kenya Chapman of Virginia on Friday for allegedly illegally selling a gun to the man who shot and killed one person, injuring two others, at Old Dominion University on Thursday.
The shooter, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, was a former Army National Guardsman who was imprisoned for attempting to provide material support to ISIS.
Jalloh started shooting up a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) class on campus and several brave cadets went after the attacker, with one of them killing the assailant by stabbing him with a knife.
On Friday, Fox News congressional correspondent Bill Melugin reported that Chapman was arrested in 2021 for straw purchase violations after being caught selling three guns that were later found at crime scenes, including a murder case.
The Biden DOJ declined to prosecute Chapman for the straw purchase violations and instead let him go with a warning after he signed a letter apologizing for the situation.
Now, the serial straw purchaser is reportedly to blame for Jalloh obtaining the firearm used to kill Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, the leader of Old Dominion’s ROTC program and an Iraq war veteran.
Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies continue to hurt Americans as criminals are allowed to roam the streets instead of being locked up where they belong.
