The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) just released information about the significant drug seizure, which unfolded on Tuesday in St. Clair County.
A state trooper conducted a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) inspection of a semi-truck on Interstate 20.
“During the course of the inspection, the driver of the tractor provided an invalid driver license,” ALEA explained in a press release.
“The driver, who was determined to be an illegal immigrant, was later identified as Dajun Sun, 57, of Oregon City, Oregon. Further investigation of the tractor revealed 23 boxes that contained approximately 185 pounds of marijuana.”
Sun was taken into custody and charged with Drug Trafficking and Operating a CMV without a Commercial Driver’s License.
He is being held in St. Clair County Jail on $1,500,000 bond.
No further information has been released amid an ongoing investigation.
