Image Credit: grok ai The MAGA movement is currently feuding over whether it’s okay to question the official narrative about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, with many politicians and political commentators suggesting their fellow conservatives who believe there’s more to the story are actively trying to get his suspected murderer, Tyler Robinson, acquitted in his upcoming trial.
After former National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) Director Joe Kent publicly complained last week that his agency’s investigation into Kirk’s murder was put to a halt and said there were “foreign leads” that were never “thoroughly looked into,” he said he’d volunteer to testify at Robinson’s trial.
Kent told radio host Mark Levin Monday, “Charlie was advocating for us not to go to war with Iran and to rethink our relationship with the Israelis, and then he was killed. This needs to be looked into. That’s all I can say.”
The new hosts of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” Andrew Kolvet and Blake Neff, were extremely offended by Kent interjecting himself into the Robinson trial, accusing him of trying to taint the jury pool and help the suspected assassin evade the death penalty or being charged altogether.
Neff posted to social media that “everyone” should “stop obscuring the fact that my friend and boss was murdered by a radical left-winger who killed him because of his view on the trans issue.”
It’s worth noting that in America, everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty even if all evidence points towards them committing the crimes they’re charged with.
Neff’s comment came in response to an 𝕏 post by Laura Loomer who alleged Robinson was a “groyper” because he dressed as a meme for Halloween, and a meme exists where groyper mascot Pepe the Frog is wearing the same outfit and doing the same pose.
However, as 𝕏 Community Notes accurately pointed out, the “Slav squat” meme was popularized several years before Pepe the Frog was made into a political figure.
Popular internet political commentator Eyal Yakoby also claimed “podcasters like Candace Owens and now Joe Kent are doing everything they can to let Tyler [Robinson] walk free.”
“Tyler Robinson literally admitted the crime to his parents,” he added.
@EndWokeness told its nearly four million followers that “people” are “trying to make sure he [Robinson] walks free,” adding, “On ‘our side’, no less.”
Laura Loomer also accused Kent of “aiding Tyler” and questioned why Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard “hasn’t condemned” him yet, asking, “Does she also believe Israel killed Charlie Kirk? Does she also want Tyler Robinson to get away with murder? This is demented!!”
Journalist Michael Shellenberger posted online that Kent is “skeptical” about Robinson being the “lone shooter,” saying, “The accusation could undermine the prosecutors’ case against Robinson.”
It’s unclear how suggesting there could have been more shooters in addition to Robinson would help his case.
Attorney and podcast host Viva Frei asked Shellenberger if Kent said lone shooter or lone actor, and the journalist replied with the ex-Trump admin official’s full quote.
“I personally have always found the lone shooter narrative to be challenging, but that’s just my opinion,” Kent stated. “Again, my focus wasn’t because Tyler Robinson is an American. Tyler was never exactly where we were looking. We were looking for links — fully investigating him for foreign links. I don’t think that due diligence was done [of] him and his associates is what I would say. I don’t think that that due diligence was done.”
Popular conservative rapper Bryson Gray wrote, “Tyler Robinson’s dna was found on the trigger of a gun that was found hours away from where he lives. Tyler Robinson was on a campus of a school he didn’t attend and was caught on camera. He also admitted to doing it. Maybe yall don’t know how evidence works but umm.”
Last year, Kirk’s dear friend podcast host Candace Owens admitted she “thinks [Robinson] was involved” in the assassination while arguing against the narrative that the “evidence is overwhelming” against him and saying she doesn’t believe he pulled the trigger.
𝕏 account @MJTruthUltra posted a pair of flashback videos where news anchor Sean Hannity and journalist John Solomon reported sources told them there may have been a “foreign” connection involved in the Kirk murder.
The bottom line is that questioning if Robinson was communicating with any foreign governments, domestic intelligence agencies, or radical networks such as Antifa or violent trans groups does not equate to hoping he’s set free.
Conservatives telling their peers to shut up and stop asking questions about the caliber of the weapon fired by Robinson, Kirk’s neck miraculously stopping the bullet, Robinson quickly breaking down the rifle and stowing into his backpack, and other controversial elements of the official story is also strange.
Podcast host Zach Costello noted, “If Tyler Robinson is given swift execution without proper questioning as to who he worked with or who influenced him because the media pushed that he was beyond a doubt guilty of being a ‘lone wolf’ assassin – this would be a mistrial, and would not be justice for Charlie Kirk.”
The faction of Republicans telling other pro-Trump individuals that they’re no longer MAGA for asking questions are proving to be in a cult similar to the left where they ostracize anyone who slightly strays away from the groupthink narrative.
A similar situation has unfolded surrounding the U.S. and Israel war with Iran where conservatives who oppose the conflict are being labeled “neo-Nazi” fascist traitors by the pro-war wing of the Republican Party.
The globalist political establishment is surely bursting with excitement while watching the populist MAGA movement being ripped apart at the seams, and it’s a damn shame.
