U.S Border Patrol (USBP) teamed up with local authorities to take down a smuggling operation in Texas and apprehend illegal aliens from around the world.

On Wednesday, USBP Chief Michael Banks released information about the bust, which unfolded on Dec. 19 in Hidalgo County, TX.

Working alongside the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, USBP agents rounded up 24 illegals who were “staged for transport” at a stash house in Mission, a city on the Rio Grande.

Photographs indicate nearly all of the illegals were adult males.

“These individuals were from multiple countries, proving once again that the cartels are transnational criminal organizations,” stated Chief Banks.

The illegals were identified as citizens of China, Cuba, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Mexico.

They are being processed for deportation and a suspect is facing prosecution for alien smuggling.

Illegal border crossings have plunged to historic lows under the Trump administration.
