Yet another illegal alien has been charged with murder in a Virginia sanctuary county.
On Mar. 27, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) was called to a residence in Bailey’s Crossroads where an infant was reported unresponsive.
The 3-month-old child was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
“At the time of the incident, the infant was in the care of her father, Misael Lopez Gomez, 28, of Bailey’s Crossroads. During the investigation, detectives and hospital staff observed evidence consistent with abuse,” FCPD explained in a press release.
“Preliminarily, results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s autopsy determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma.”
On Mar. 31, Lopez Gomez was charged with second-degree murder and ordered held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has now confirmed that Lopez Gomez is a Guatemalan national who is illegally present in the U.S.
Lopez Gomez reportedly told authorities that he crossed the southern border into New Mexico in 2023, indicating he slipped into the country as a ‘gotaway.’
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against Lopez Gomez, although it is unclear if it will be honored by officials in the sanctuary jurisdiction.
On Sunday, another illegal alien from Guatemala was charged with second-degree murder in Fairfax County.
Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy, 38, is accused of stabbing a man to death at a residence in Bailey’s Corner.
On Feb. 23, Stephanie Minter, a 41-year-old mother, was stabbed to death after exiting a public bus in Fairfax County.
Abdul Jalloh, an illegal alien from Sierra Leone with a stunning criminal history in the U.S., was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
