Image Credit: grok ai Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino repeatedly attacked Congressman Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) this week after the Republican politician called out the ex-top intelligence official for threatening to finance lawsuits against journalists reporting on a forensic investigation that found the gait of ex-Capitol Hill police officer Shauni Kerkhoff was reportedly a 94%-98% match to the “unique stride” of the Jan. 6 pipe-bomb suspect.
Bongino titled his Wednesday podcast, “The Biggest Fraud in D.C.,” with an image of Rep. Massie.
Appearing borderline obsessed, Bongino wrote, “Tom Massie is a liar, a grifter and a fraud. Thanks, and have a good morning.”
Bongino seemingly posts a similar message every day, also going on bizarre sprees reposting anti-Massie content shared by his followers.
On Wednesday, Massie posted to social media about Kerkhoff allegedly failing the lie detector test before she was reported as a match to footage of the J6 pipe bomber, writing, “Looks like defamation suits FBI DD Bongino told me he would personally finance against reporters are a bust.”
The ex-FBI deputy director retorted, “You’re a sitting US Representative, please try to preserve a sliver of dignity. There is an ongoing criminal trial in this case and the individual in this case is a US citizen entitled to due process. Your relentless bloviating and absurd public commentary on an ongoing, very serious, criminal matter, which you know little to nothing about (by choice), is beneath the office you hold. It’s bizarre that you continue to claim to be a supporter of liberty and the Constitution, while acting like a Soviet era communist.”
“Six days after she failed the FBI lie detector, you told me on the phone you would finance civil defamation cases on her behalf. That’s very inappropriate for an FBI DD. Perhaps at that point, the FBI hadn’t even told you, the Deputy Director, that she had failed the polygraph,” Massie replied.

The Kentucky congressman also responded to an update about the DOJ looking to sanction the lawyers for the autistic man charged with planting the J6 bombs, Brian Cole, after the suspect’s attorneys placed witness subpoenas for Kerkhoff and another Capitol Hill officer named Daniel Dickert.
“It’s almost as if the DOJ is working against the President on this case,” Massie wrote.
President Trump has also repeatedly attacked Massie over his calls for transparency regarding the Epstein files, and now Bongino has an odd infatuation with “Tom,” both of the men backing Massie’s opponent in the upcoming primary election.
Despite the attacks from Trump and top officials, Massie raked in a whopping $342,000 in one day this week.
