A Chinese national charged with killing an American truck driver in a multi-car pileup in Tennessee was unleashed into the U.S. by the Biden regime and licensed to drive commercial vehicles by the sanctuary state of New York, federal authorities have confirmed.
The deadly incident unfolded just before 6 a.m. on Dec. 9 in Putnam County.
The driver of an empty tour bus violently rear-ended a big rig on I-40, pushing into another tractor-trailer, which veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a passenger vehicle during a chain reaction that resulted in several injuries and the death of Kerry Smith, a 31-year-old trucker from Tennessee.
The bus driver, identified as 54-year-old Huang Yisong, was arrested by Tennessee Highway Patrol and charged with vehicular homicide.
Investigators believe Huang was distracted by a video on his phone at the time of the collision.
On Wednesday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed that Huang is a Chinese national who admitted to Border Patrol that he illegally crossed the southern border in 2023.
“Despite his admission of breaking the law, the Biden Administration released him into the country and provided him with both work authorization papers and a social security card,” DHS explained in a press release.
“Because the Biden Administration provided him with work papers, Huang was able to get a Class B CDL, leading to the deadly multi-vehicle pile-up in Tennessee last week.”
Huang was residing in Brooklyn and held a CDL issued by the state of New York at the time of the crash, but failed an English proficiency test administered at the scene, authorities say.
“Far too many innocent Americans have been killed by illegal aliens driving semi-trucks and big rigs. And yet, sanctuary states around the country have been issuing illegal aliens commercial driver’s licenses. The Trump Administration is ending the chaos,” state DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
Huang is being held on $175,000 bond.
