As a schedule III drug, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be able to further study the medicinal uses of cannabis.

The move acknowledges pot’s “legitimate medical uses,” Trump said, explaining people have been “begging” for him to sign the executive order.
“For decades this action has been requested by American patients suffering from extreme pain, incurable diseases, aggressive cancers, seizure disorders, neurological problems and more, including numerous veterans with service-related injuries and older Americans who live with chronic medical problems that severely degrade their quality of life,” he stated.
The president noted, “It doesn’t legalize marijuana in any way, shape or form or and in no way sanctions its use as a recreational drug,” and warned against using the “powerful controlled substance in a recreational manner.”
Since 1970, marijuana has been absurdly classified in the same category as “hard” drugs such as heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy), methaqualone, and peyote.
Meanwhile, some schedule III drugs are Tylenol with codeine, ketamine and testosterone.
