A leftist writer incurred the wrath of President Donald Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt over last week, walking straight into a devastating “your mom” joke after criticizing the administration’s strategy in resolving the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
On Monday, the press secretary posted a screenshot of a text exchange between her and Huffington Post reporter S.V. Date, in which he suggested there was some hidden significance behind the selection of Budapest, Hungary, for an upcoming meeting between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Is the president aware of the significance of Budapest?” Date snidely inquired over text, going on to claim the Hungarian city held symbolic historical importance to Ukraine.
Date demanded to know, “Does he not see why Ukraine might object to that site? Who suggested Budapest?”
“Your mom did,” Leavitt bluntly responded.
The reply sent the unhinged left-wing correspondent off the rails, blasting the press secretary over the joke, asking, “Is this funny to you?”
According to the HuffPo writer, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung also responded, “Your mom.”
Leavitt next unloaded:
It’s funny to me that you actually consider yourself a journal[ist]. You are a far left hack who nobody takes seriously, including your colleagues in the media, they just don’t tell you that to your face. Stop texting me your disingenuous, biased, and bullshit questions.
Posting the text exchange Monday, Leavitt further skewered Date on X, assessing the reporter’s supposed journalistic concern over Budapest was motivated by Trump Derangement Syndrome.
