Troopers attempted to execute several precision immobilization techniques (PIT maneuvers) but the driver continued onward in the damaged vehicle.
Eventually, a trooper was able to perform the tactic successfully, causing the suspect to lose control of the Mazda and crash.
Troopers pulled seven people out of the compact car, including five illegal aliens and two smuggling suspects.
The driver, a 16-year-old male, and a passenger identified as Juan Francisco Torres, were both arrested and charged with five counts of smuggling of persons. The teen was also charged with evading arrest.
The illegal aliens were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol.
Illegal border crossings have plunged to historic lows under the Trump administration.
