Image Credit: infowars composite MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) host Joe Scarborough freaked out on his show Monday morning following an X post by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth lampooning the military strikes on drug cartel boats with a Franklin children’s book meme.
Despite protests from co-host Mika Brzezinski, who called the meme shared by Hegseth “sickening,” Scarborough ordered producers to show the cartoon image, while he opined, “I mean, this comes from the Secretary of Defense at a time when subordinates based on reportedly his orders could be facing war crime investigations, are facing war crime investigations.”
It’s Monday morning, which means MS NOW is already in full meltdown mode.

And today’s crisis?
A cartoon posted by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Joe Scarborough was so rattled he demanded producers put it back on the screen for viewers:
SCARBOROUGH: “Put the cartoon back… pic.twitter.com/fG25cV7YrR
“And as Andy McCarthy said, that’s the best case scenario,” Scarborough continued, laying it on thick. “Because if it’s determined this is not actually warfare, then it could be murder charges. And this is what the secretary of defense does while the commander in chief is saying he knew nothing about it.”
“Just look at that and ask yourself, if you’re in uniform serving this country, and this is how the secretary of defense responds to really one of the most critical questions that has faced the Pentagon since the beginning of this administration…”
“Just ask yourself what they’re thinking. And what parents of men and women in uniform, what spouses, what children are thinking, if this is how unserious and clownish Secretary of Defense is in the face of some of the most serious questions the Pentagon has faced over the past year.”
Scarborough’s righteous indignation came as War Secretary Pete Hegseth on Sunday evening shared a comical X post of a Franklin the Turtle children’s book with a revamped cover depicting the namesake character outfitted in US military garb and firing a rocket launcher at cartel boats from a helicopter.
“For your Christmas wish list…” Hegseth captioned the post.

To date, the Trump administration has carried out over 20 strikes on as many drug boats, killing 83 drug traffickers en route to the United States.
In one attack, Hegseth reportedly ordered a follow-up strike to kill survivors, prompting lawmakers to accuse him of committing war crimes.
The situation underscores Hegseth detractors’ lack of humor — and has put them squarely on the side of drug cartels importing narcotics and endangering US citizens’ lives.
Hegseth’s post led to others using the meme to support or attack him.
