Several people were arrested after pro-invasion radicals swarmed federal authorities during an immigration enforcement operation in Michigan this week, according to reports.

The alarming incident unfolded on Monday morning in Detroit.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), working alongside partner agencies, was serving a search warrant at a residence where a twice-deported illegal alien was hiding after he evaded ICE officers when a mob of left-wing activists arrived to protest and interfere, Metro Detroit News reports.

Witness footage circulating on social media appears to show federal agents storming a house and taking a man into custody.

As a black law enforcement truck attempted to leave the scene (it is unclear if it was carrying the illegal alien in question), the driver of a gray pickup truck nearly forced a collision before swerving in front of the federal vehicle and temporarily blocking it.

The driver of the pickup fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended, along with another person who was charged with malicious destruction of property of a separate federal vehicle, according to Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison.

The illegal alien was identified as Marcos Fabian Arita Bautista, a citizen of Honduras who illegally crossed the southern border in 2015 near Falfurrias, TX.

He was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol and quickly removed from the country.

Arita Bautista was caught illegally crossing the border again in 2018 near Hidalgo, TX, and promptly deported.

The Honduran snuck back into the U.S. for a third time at an unknown location and date before being arrested and pleading guilty to driving an unregistered vehicle, operating without required financial responsibility, and assigning improper title in 2022 in Dauphin County, PA.

In June, ICE received information Arita Bautista was residing in the Detroit area and tracked him down.

“It is a crime to obstruct or otherwise interfere with an ICE arrest and anyone involved may be subject to prosecution under federal law. In addition, encouraging others to interfere or attempt to obstruct an arrest is extremely reckless and places all parties in jeopardy,” ICE explained in a statement.

Monday’s melee was reportedly launched by local socialist groups such as Detroit Will Breathe and the People’s Movement Assembly.

“On 6/30/25 on Detroit’s westside, armed and masked ICE agents, with assistance from DPD, ATF, and DEA conducted raids on Detroit families while also threatening local activists who showed up on the scene to monitor and protest the kidnapping. It appears they arrested someone from the community trying to give support to the person being detained. Other protesters were pepper sprayed,” Detroit Will Breathe wrote in a social media post.

“It was really good that activists and community were able to be present. We need to continue to stay vigilant, build up our capacity to respond, and strategize how we stop ICE and build a movement that fights for a world where no human is illegal.”
