Law enforcement arrested 25-year-old Amanda Tom and 23-year-old Muhamad Tarik Hussein in San Francisco on Sunday after the car they reportedly used in the drive-by shooting was located at a nearby residence.
The incident comes after a 20-year-old man tossed a Molotov cocktail at Altman’s house on Friday.
An hour after the incendiary device was thrown at the home, the suspect was arrested outside OpenAI headquarters for “allegedly threatening to burn down a building.”
OpenAI issued a statement about the threat, saying, “We deeply appreciate how quickly SFPD responded and the support from the city in helping keep our employees safe. We’re assisting law enforcement with their investigation.”
Altman also addressed the first attack on his residence, posting an image of himself with his adopted child in a blog post, writing, “Images have power, I hope. Normally we try to be pretty private, but in this case I am sharing a photo in the hopes that it might dissuade the next person from throwing a Molotov cocktail at our house, no matter what they think about me.”
It’s unclear if the incidents were related but San Francisco police are working with the FBI to investigate the matter.
