i’m begging tmz to stick to terrorizing politicians instead of celebrities it’s genuinely way more entertaining https://t.co/IPsiiklfjZ

Last week, the gossip site, best known for its paparazzi-style ambush reports of celebrities, called on audience members to snap pics of congressmen on vacation, which they have been steadily republishing on social media.
“If anybody goes to Disney World with their family for spring break or goes to a beach somewhere or anywhere on vacation and you see one of the 535 members of Congress, take a picture and send it to us at TMZ,” founder Harvey Levin declared in a video last week, adding, “We want to show what they are doing at your expense.”

The results were nothing short of amazing, with citizen journalists snapping Congress critters everywhere but in Washington, DC, where they should be negotiating an end to the shutdown.
The most intriguing photos so far exposed Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) as a “Disney adult” touring the Magic Kingdom with an Ariel and Flounder Light and Sound Bubble Wand in tow.

The image was so fascinating that even Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-Calif.) press team couldn’t resist cracking a gay joke — despite literally just calling MAGA homophobic for making a similar jest.

TMZ also received photos of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) leaving DC and touring various parts of the south.

While there have mostly been images of Republicans, including Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), Rep. Jared Moskowitz (R-Fla.), and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), the site also published a photo featuring Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) slinking out of DC.

In a summary of his org’s reporting, Levin – whose name appeared in the Epstein files – called for more photos and blamed both sides of Congress for the ensuing shutdown.
“And the point of this is to show how fed up the American people are because we are. And it’s so insulting that they are, you know, the Republicans blamed the Democrats. Lindsey Graham was quick to say it’s the Democrats fault. No, it’s both your faults, because two sides have to come together to compromise. They are unable to do it.”

“And yeah, one can blame the other, but the bottom line is you’ve got to figure out how to do it in order to run government. And they haven’t done it. And not only have they not done it, they just threw up their hands and said, we’re leaving.”
