Nobody was safe during this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” cold open as New York City mayoral candidates Andrew Cuomo, Zohran Mamdani and Curtis Sliwa were mocked in a debate skit featuring a last-minute visit from President Donald Trump.
The “Democratic Socialist” Mamdani was blasted for making promises of free programs he’ll never be able to follow through with, Independent candidate Cuomo was portrayed as a privileged womanizer, and Republican Sliwa constantly mentioned an escalating series of injuries he’d suffered at the hands of New York gangs and criminals.
Eventually, Trump entered the scene and threw some jabs at the candidates before suggesting he may one day run for mayor of the Big Apple.
The sketch was a flashback to the glory days of SNL equally mocking politicians of all ideologies.
