We need more studies!

Dr. Joel Warsh, author of Between a Shot and a Hard Place, joined Keeping It Real With Jillian Michaels this week to discuss his new book examining the link between vaccines and autism.

He explained he assumed there was a large amount of studies showing there are no links between vaccines and autism when he started writing the book, saying, “What I was aiming to do with the book was to show both sides.”

“I thought I was going to show all these really good studies on autism that show vaccines don’t cause autism, and then I would also show the other studies that – this is why people are saying it’s not settled,” Dr. Warsh explained.

“When you actually go look at the research,” data investigating a connection between shots and autism “doesn’t exist at all,” he added.

The doctor said, “The only things we have at all are on MMR and thimerosal, the mercury component. We haven’t studied any of the other vaccines against autism. You get DTaP, Polio, hepB, you get all these vaccines in the first year… It’s so insane.”
