Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News this week that New York City is refusing to cooperate with immigration officials seeking to deport over 7,000 illegal aliens sitting in Big Apple jails.
“Today, in New York City’s jails are 7,169 criminal illegal aliens. We’re talking about hundreds of murderers, hundreds of sexual predators, drug traffickers, the worst of the worst,” she said.
McLaughlin continued to urge politicians in Democrat “sanctuary cities” to honor federal immigration detainers and hand over the criminal illegals.
She pointed out that if the illegals were deported instead of being let back onto U.S. streets, ICE wouldn’t have to flood American cities.
