New rules will make it easier to fine illegals for being in the US and increase the daily fine amount to nearly $1000, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice announced on Friday.

“The current process requires giving illegal aliens 30 days’ notice of the intent to fine them before a fine is issued,” the Departments announced in a joint written statement.

The new rule will “eliminate the 30-day notice period, authorize DHS immigration officers to send fines to illegal aliens by regular mail, and shorten the process that applies if illegal aliens contest their fines.”

The updated fining process will apply to aliens who enter the country illegally, as well as aliens who delay their removal from the country or defy removal orders issued by judges.

Every unlawful entry to the country will be subject to a fine of between $100 and $500. A fine of up to $998 will be issued for failure to comply with a removal order, and illegals who violate a voluntary departure order with face a much larger fine of between $1992 and $9970.

These fines were first issued during President Trump’s previous term, but halted by President Biden.

During Trump’s second term so far, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued over 10,000 fine notices.

Illegals who register to depart voluntarily from the US using the new CBP Home App will receive a $1000 bonus as well as free travel, and any fines accrued for non-compliance will be forgiven.

The Trump administration continues to enforce its radical immigration agenda on multiple fronts.

Border crossings have been radically reduced under President Trump, reaching a monthly level that’s lower than the number who entered on a single day at the height of the Biden border crisis in 2023.

Large swathes of the southern border, including the Roosevelt Reserve, have now been militarized, to make it even harder for illegals to enter the US.

Construction of Trump’s border wall, which was halted during the Biden administration, with spare materials being auctioned at rock-bottom prices, has now resumed.

The Trump administration has also won a series of judicial victories in recent days, including Supreme Court decisions that allow the deportation of illegals to countries other than their home nations and a ban on so-called “nationwide injunctions” by District Court judges.
