Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared at a press conference Thursday, putting to rest claims circulating online that he may have been killed by the Iranian regime.

“First of all, I just want to say: I’m alive, and you’re all witnesses,” Netanyahu told reporters during opening remarks.

Footage captured him walking up to the podium for good measure:

Rumors swirled online over the past week claiming Netanyahu had been assassinated in an Iranian missile strike, and that the Israeli government was releasing AI-generated videos of him in order to deceive adversaries.

Elsewhere during the presser, the prime minister acknowledged Israel “acted alone” during recent attacks on the South Pars gas field in Iran, which caused Iran to strike a liquefied natural gas facility in Qatar and prompted President Trump to condemn the attacks.

Netanyahu also claimed it was “fake news” that Israel had dragged the United States into the war, telling reporters, “Does anyone really think that someone can tell Trump what to do?”

A reporter later pressed him on the subject, saying Americans paying with their lives and at the gas pump are questioning whether he’d “misled” President Trump on the operation.
