President Trump blasted Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky for opposing his strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and said he would actively campaign against him in his upcoming primary.
Taking to Truth Social on Sunday, President Trump wrote, “Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky is not MAGA, even though he likes to say he is.”
The President continued: “Actually, MAGA doesn’t want him, doesn’t know him, and doesn’t respect him. He is a negative force who almost always Votes “NO,” no matter how good something may be. He’s a simple minded “grandstander” who thinks it’s good politics for Iran to have the highest level Nuclear weapon, while at the same time yelling “DEATH TO AMERICA” at every chance they get. Iran has killed and maimed thousands of Americans, and even took over the American Embassy in Tehran under the Carter Administration.”
Trump hailed his strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan as a “spectacular military success” and labelled Massie a “lightweight” for opposing and criticizing them.
Trump also criticized Massie for his ongoing opposition to the Big Beautiful Bill, which Massie has said dangerously increases government debt.
After suggesting “MAGA should drop this pathetic LOSER, Tom Massie, like the plague!” President Trump announced that “we will have a wonderful American Patriot running against him in the Republican Primary, and I’ll be out in Kentucky campaigning really hard.”
“MAGA is not about lazy, grandstanding, nonproductive politicians, of which Thomas Massie is definitely one,” Trump added.
On Saturday, US B2 bombers attacked three nuclear sites in Iran, at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, after more than a week of uncertainty about US intentions following Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, ballistic-missile sites and senior military figures.
In a post on Truth Social last night, President Donald Trump congratulated the US military and said, “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE.”
In a separate, later, post, the President warned Iran that retaliation against the US for the strikes would prompt an even bigger military response.
Iran has reacted with defiance to the strikes, vowing to continue enriching uranium.
On Sunday, the Kremlin warned that several nations are prepared to supply Iran with nuclear weapons.
The claim was made by former Russian president Dmitriy Medvedev, who serves as deputy head of Russia’s Security Council; he did not specify which nations.
Medvedev also claimed Saturday’s strikes caused only minimal damage.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is due to travel to Moscow to meet with President Putin and discuss the Iranian response to the strikes.
“We enjoy a strategic partnership, and we always consult with each other and coordinate our positions,” Araghchi told Russian media.
Russia’s foreign ministry described the strikes as a “dangerous escalation,” and “a gross violation of international law, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council resolutions.”
China also accused the US of violating international law, but struck a more measured tone, saying it was committed to bringing an end to hostilities between Israel and Iran.
