House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) told Breitbart News Daily on Friday that the GOP is looking into the Democrat fundraising group ActBlue’s foreign donations.
Jordan’s announcement comes a day after President Donald Trump called out ActBlue and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for fraud, saying the 2020 presidential election “should be permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect” if accusations of their misconduct are true.
The Department of Justice indicted the SPLC on Tuesday, following federal fraud charges alleging the organization improperly raised millions of dollars which it covertly paid to individuals associated with the Ku Klux Klan and other extremist groups.
Now, Congress is looking into another arm of the left-wing political establishment’s corrupt operations.
Rep. Jordan explained House Republicans are investigating ActBlue for “possible efforts to mask the source of repeated donations,” which contribute to billions of dollars in donations for Democrats every election.
After the 2024 election, “their top people in their legal department dealing with fraud prevention resigned,” Jordan explained, adding, “General counsel was fired. He was given a big severance package. And then we find out their CEO was sent a letter by Congress a while back. And we find out from the news, [the] New York Times reported this, that the response that she gave to [the] inquiry from Congress, according to her counsel, according to ActBlue’s counsel, Covington, big law firm, they said she may have misrepresented things, which is a nice way of saying you weren’t square.”
He then told Breitbart, “You were lying to Congress. And so we’re digging into all this. We put out an interim report yesterday that kind of highlights all the things going on there that sure make it look like they were taking foreign contributions, which, as you know, is against the law,” he said, emphasizing the significance of lawyers from the left warning about this.”
If ActBlue is held responsible for their suspected illegal activities, in addition to the SPLC recently suffering a major blow, it would mark a significant hit to the Democrat power structure.
