Ex-President George W. Bush subtly slammed President Donald Trump in a President’s Day essay Monday, indirectly attacking the commander-in-chief by talking up the qualities of America’s first president George Washington.

In an essay published by the pro-democracy More Perfect organization, the Yale Skull and Bones secret society member said Washington’s humility and willingness to relinquish power were defining attributes other presidents should aspire to – clearly taking a swipe at Trump without naming him.

“Our first president could have remained all-powerful, but twice he chose not to,” Bush wrote. “In so doing, he set a standard for all presidents to live up to.”

“He could be given power because of his character; because everyone knew he would not abuse power,” he says later in the essay.

“So after two terms in office, with a distrust of long-seated rulers still fresh on America’s soul, Washington chose not to run again for president. And by once again relinquishing power rather than holding on to it, he ensured America wouldn’t become a monarchy, or worse,” Bush continued, laying the king comparison on thick.

The criticism of a monarchy is reminiscent of recent “No Kings” protests where deranged leftists branded Trump an unelected “king,” despite him winning both the popular and electoral college votes.

Bush noted Washington was committed to civility and “gentlemanly arts,” and exercised self-restraint – obviously contrasting his disposition with Trump’s.

“Few qualities have inspired me more than Washington’s humility,” the 43rd president wrote. “Washington modeled what it means to put the good of the nation over self-interest and selfish ambition… he carried himself with dignity and self-restraint, honoring the office [of the president] without allowing to become invested with near-mythical powers.”

It’s no secret Bush is part of the same entrenched Deep State establishment that backed Biden and Clinton over Trump, but that is now begrudgingly having to endure the Trump presidency, unable to stop him as he dismantles many parts of the global new world order they worked so hard to create.

Hear the essay narrated by Bush himself:

Incidentally, the person overseeing the essay project is former National Archivist Colleen Shogan, who was fired by Trump just days after he started his second term.

Shogan told The New York Times Bush’s essay “speaks for itself,” saying, “His ideas are his ideas.”

“We are taking the long view of things,” she added. “The lesson of presidential humility transcends time.”

The project will also commission history essays from former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton — but don’t expect any comments on their connections to Jeffrey Epstein!
