Image Credit: x screenshot Conservative journalist Tucker Carlson and his executive producer were both detained during a visit to Israel on Wednesday to interview the American ambassador to the country, Mike Huckabee.
“Greetings form Israel,” Carlson wrote in a social media post.
After Carlson and Huckabee argued online about Israel’s treatment of Christians living in the Middle East nation, the journalist accepted an offer to debate the subject on camera.
Carlson flew into Tel Aviv for a sit-down interview with Huckabee but was detained by Israeli officials following the talk.
Despite Tucker never leaving the Tel Aviv airport, he was harassed by airport security who confiscated his passport and privately interrogated his executive producer, according to the Daily Mail.
“Men who identified themselves as airport security took our passports, hauled our executive producer into a side room and then demanded to know what we spoke to Ambassador Huckabee about,” Carlson told the outlet. “It was bizarre. We’re now out of the country.”
Carlson has been critical of how Israel has handled the Gaza situation following the infamous October 7th attack by Hamas in 2023.
Ex-Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) commented on the situation, writing, “We won’t tolerate this. You just made it worse.”
