On Thursday Brazil’s Supreme Court sentenced former populous President Jair Bolsonaro to 27 years in prison for coup plotting. Brazil’s Dracula-like Leftist Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes began the sessions to deliver the verdict against Bolsonaro September 2.
“The sentence could see the 70-year-old conservative leader spend the rest of his days in jail,” The European Conservative said. “Judges voted 4-1 to convict Bolsonaro of plotting to overthrow Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva following his October 2022 election defeat by the left-winger.”

Bolsonaro’s defense described the sentence as “incredibly excessive.” They announced they will appeal the sentence, “including at the international level.”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke out against the persecution of the former Brazilian president:
The political persecutions by sanctioned human rights abuser Alexandre de Moraes continue, as he and others on Brazil’s supreme court have unjustly ruled to imprison former President Jair Bolsonaro. The United States will respond accordingly to this witch hunt.
