Trump Medicare & Medicaid Services Centers administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz traveled to Los Angeles, California, documenting apparent abuse of federal funds dedicated toward the nation’s hospice service system.
Finding 42 hospice service centers in the Van Nuys neighborhood within a four-block radius, Dr. Oz explained a $16 million fraud ring was just busted in the area evidently run by a Russian-Armenian mafia, with the main guy only serving two years in jail.
“It’s a good trade off for a lot of folks,” Dr. Oz said in a recent report posted to X.

“Well, we have learned there’s roughly $3.5 billion of fraud taking place here in Los Angeles in hospice and home care,” the former daytime television host continued.
The fraud is expansive, Dr. Oz added, saying, “…This is an organized crime, mafia deal, where you’ve got folks who are systemically recruited doctors to write false prescriptions — hundreds of doctors participating.”
“They’ve got 100,000 patients who they’ve tricked or paid to give them their beneficiary numbers so they can perpetuate the fraud.”
Oz said the Trump administration is now turning its focus to fraud in the state, saying, “Unfortunately, in California, there has not been a lot of attention on these problems — that’s going to change.”
“The US Attorney, the FBI, everyone’s now focused on the fact that in this state, which has about $30 billion worth of home and community-based services, most of it might be fraudulent, most are big numbers, and we’re taking it seriously. The President is not going to tolerate this anymore.”
Dr. Oz’s James-O’Keefe-style exposé comes as fraud in the Golden State has come under scrutiny following revelations of millions in fraud involving Minnesota Somali daycare programs.
