Federal officials have dismantled claims that immigration officers triggered a man to have a seizure while desperately clutching to his toddler during an alleged “hostile arrest” this week in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts.
On Thursday, footage circulated online appearing to show a male adult suffering a medical episode as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents surrounded an SUV he was driving in Fitchburg.
“Witnesses said that the man appeared to suffer a seizure when one of the ICE agents put his hand on his neck during the incident,” WGVN reports.
The man can be seen gripping a crying child as a woman in the front passenger seat grabs at them both.
“He’s having seizure and they’re trying to rip the baby out of her hands,” a bystander can be heard saying as an angry mob yells at federal and local officers, who were reportedly called to the scene to assist with crowd control twice in under an hour.
The woman, who was the target of the operation, was eventually taken into custody and identified as Juliana Milena Ojeda-Montoya, an illegal alien from Ecuador who was released into the U.S. in 2023 by the Biden regime.
In August 2025, Ojeda-Montoya was charged with assault and battery after repeatedly stabbing a co-working with scissors and then throwing a trash can at her victim, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
“During ICE’s targeted vehicle stop of Ojeda-Montoya, her child and husband were in the car. The target threw the child into the arms of her husband while he purported to have a medical episode, though refused medical help and displayed absolutely no signs of medical concerns just moments later,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin explained in a statement on Friday.
“Agitators attempted to impede the arrest. Fitchburg police responded to the scene to help with crowd control.”
