Image Credit: x screenshot US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy posted to social media Sunday, revealing “a career criminal with 72 PRIOR ARRESTS” is the person accused of setting 26-year-old Bethany MaGee ablaze while riding Chicago’s L train earlier this month.
Democrat Judge Teresa Molina-Gonzalez, who let suspect Lawrence Reed loose, previously admitted she was a DEI hire who makes her rulings based on socioeconomic status, sex and race.
“It is devastating that a career criminal with 72 PRIOR ARRESTS is now accused of attacking 26-year-old Bethany MaGee on Chicago’s L train, and setting her on fire. This would never have happened if this thug had been behind bars. Yet Chicago lets repeat offenders roam the streets. Chicago’s carelessness is putting the American people at risk. No one should ever have to fear for their life on the subway,” Duffy wrote.
Reed approached MaGee, who was sitting with her back to the crazed firebug on the train in downtown Chicago around 9 p.m. Nov. 17, according to the criminal complaint.
Reed is said to have doused MaGee with a flammable liquid from a bottle before chasing her down when she fled and setting her on fire.
The victim collapsed on the platform where she was tended to by witnesses, and she is currently in the hospital with critical injuries.
Surveillance footage reportedly showed Reed purchasing fuel at a gas station and pouring it into a water bottle 20 minutes before the attack.
The career criminal could be eligible for the death penalty if convicted as he was charged with federal terrorism charges.
Again proving Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies a danger to U.S. citizens, Reed has 22 prior arrests since 2016, and 53 criminal cases in Cook County since 1993.
Despite pleading guilty to nine felonies, Reed has only been jailed twice, spending two-and-a-half years in prison total.
Just three months ago, the Chicago repeat-offender viciously assaulted a female social worker and gave her “optic nerve damage and a concussion.”
Prosecutors are now begging the court to keep Reed behind bars, saying, “Reed had plenty of second chances by the criminal justice system and as a result you have an innocent victim in the hospital fighting for her life.”
