Image Credit: infowars composite Keen internet sleuths picked up on a strange coincidence between NBC Today anchor Savannah Guthrie’s pleas to kidnappers to return her mom, and a scene from the 1991 film, The Silence Of The Lambs, with exact wording making the similarity all the more bizarre.
In a message released by Guthrie days ago, begging abductors to return her 84-year-old mother Nancy Guthrie, who was kidnapped early Sunday morning, she remarked,
“She’s funny, spunky and clever. She has grandchildren that adore her and crowd around her and cover. She loves fun and adventure. She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge. Talk to her and you’ll see. The light is missing from our lives.”
In The Silence Of The Lambs, the same “talk to her” line is uttered by fictional U.S. Sen. Ruth Martin in a similar video plea to her daughter’s kidnapper, the deranged mass murderer “Buffalo Bill,” whose abduction prompts FBI agent Clarice Starling to seek help from convicted cannibal/psychopath/genius Hannibal Lecter.
SEN. MARTIN: “I’m speaking now to the person who is holding my daughter. Her name is Catherine… You have the power to let Catherine go, unharmed. She’s very gentle and kind – talk to her and you’ll see.”

Speaking to Fox News Digital, expert serial killer profiler Dr. Ann Wolbert Burgess remarked the reference to the 35-year-old film could suggest investigators have a suspect in mind.
“That goes back a while, ‘Silence of the Lambs,’” Dr. Burgess said, adding, “Which makes you wonder if they have any inkling of an abductor – plural, because I don’t think it was just one. But they’re maybe thinking of an age range for the abductors.”
“I think they’re trying to get some profile that they are comfortable with. I don’t think they have it yet, but they’re working on it,” she added.
The bizarre coincidence notwithstanding, the search for Nancy Guthrie continues on stretching into its sixth day, with one ransom deadline set by the abductors missed, while another reportedly “far more consequential” deadline is set for Monday.
