Following a week full of accusations that Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was either seriously injured or killed in an Iranian strike, the PM’s official 𝕏 account posted a video to prove he’s still alive.
A video with an English transcription shows Netanyahu was asked about rumors that he died, replying by joking that he was “dying for coffee” and asking the cameraman if he’d like to count his fingers, a jab at internet rumors that he had an extra finger in a previous video many thought was made using AI.
He continued to tell Israelis they should go out and relax, but only in protected areas, adding that the IDF continues to strike Iran and fight in Lebanon.
However, many internet users still aren’t buying the prime minister’s video, claiming again that it was manufactured with AI.
Popular 𝕏 account @ShadowofEzra called the conspiracy “Coffeegate” and pointed to Netanyahu’s cup of coffee failing to spill over despite being full to the brim as a sign that the video was faked.
Even Russia Today promoted the claim that Israel released an AI video of Netanyahu after he was absent from a military council meeting.
Alex Jones issued several video reports on Saturday night commenting on the claims that Netanyahu was killed.
