President Donald Trump on Sunday declared a major disaster in Central Texas following devastating floods that left dozens dead.
“I just signed a Major Disaster Declaration for Kerr County, Texas, to ensure that our Brave First Responders immediately have the resources they need,” Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday.

“These families are enduring an unimaginable tragedy, with many lives lost, and many still missing. The Trump Administration continues to work closely with State and Local Leaders. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was on the ground yesterday with Governor Greg Abbott, who is working hard to help the people of his Great State.”
“Our incredible U.S. Coast Guard, together with State First Responders, have saved more than 850 lives,” Trump wrote, adding, “GOD BLESS THE FAMILIES, AND GOD BLESS TEXAS!”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) thanked POTUS for the declaration, and asked the public for prayers.
The New York Times reported the confirmed death toll from the Texas floods was up to 70 as of Sunday afternoon, with 11 girls still missing from the Camp Mystic Christian camp near Kerrville.
The president’s notice came amid massive rescue and recovery efforts after deadly flash floods swept through the Hill Country region 100 miles west of Austin early Independence Day morning, causing the Guadalupe River to rise nearly 30 feet in under an hour – as questions swirled over whether faulty early detection and warning systems were to blame.
Meanwhile, many including Republican Georgia House of Representatives candidate Kandiss Taylor, have questioned whether covert government weather modification projects could be responsible.
