Border Czar Homan Meets Gov. Walz & Mayor Frey

With top Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino and some of his Border Patrol agents leaving the state on Tuesday, Homan takes control of the deportation operations there, becoming Trump's main point of contact for on-the-ground activities in Minnesota.

Alex Jones reported Tuesday that this shakeup is NOT the administration backing down from its deportation agenda, rather just a strategic reorganization in the face of the Leftist terrorism.

Following President Donald Trump’s positive telephone calls with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey on Monday, White House Border Czar Tom Homan traveled to the state on Tuesday where he met with Walz in the morning before meeting Frey later in the day.

Walz and Homan “agreed on the need for an ongoing dialogue,” according to the Governor’s office. Walz also appointed the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to be a liaison to work with Homan on the state’s “goals.”

Walz reportedly discussed three key “priorities” of his, notably, priorities that could hinder Trump’s deportation agenda if not for the administration adapting tactics around:

  • Impartial investigations into the Minneapolis shootings involving federal agents
  • A swift, significant reduction in the number of federal forces in Minnesota
  • An end to the campaign of “retribution” against Minnesota

Walz’s office released the following statement to FOX 9:

“Governor Walz met with Tom Homan this morning and reiterated Minnesota’s priorities: impartial investigations into the Minneapolis shootings involving federal agents, a swift, significant reduction in the number of federal forces in Minnesota, and an end to the campaign of retribution against Minnesota. The Governor and Homan agreed on the need for an ongoing dialogue and will continue working toward those goals, which the President also agreed to yesterday. The Governor tasked the Minnesota Department of Public Safety as the primary liaison to Homan to ensure these goals are met.”

Homan then met with Mayor Frey and Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.

The Mayor’s spokesperson reported that the meeting was “productive.” Frey’s main request to Homan was that “Operation Metro Surge” come to an end as soon as possible.

Operation Metro Surge is a large joint ICE/Border Patrol operation in Minnesota which has been getting pushback from violent Leftist agitators over the last several weeks.

Frey’s office released the following statement to FOX 9:

“I appreciated the conversation the chief and I had with Border Czar Homan. During our meeting, I reiterated that my main ask is for Operation Metro Surge to come to an end as quickly as possible. Public safety works best when it’s built on community trust – not tactics that create fear or division.”

“I shared with Mr. Homan the serious negative impacts this operation has had on Minneapolis and surrounding communities, as well as the strain it has placed on our local police officers. I also made it clear that Minneapolis does not and will not enforce federal immigration laws, and that we will remain focused on keeping our neighbors and streets safe. City leaders will continue to stay in conversation with Mr. Homan and his team.”

With top Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino and some of his Border Patrol agents leaving the state on Tuesday, Homan takes control of the deportation operations there, becoming Trump’s main point of contact for on-the-ground activities in Minnesota.

What remains unclear is how many Border Patrol agents will be leaving the state, and if any ICE agents will be departing as well.

Alex Jones reported Tuesday that this shakeup is NOT the administration backing down from its deportation agenda, rather just a strategic reorganization in the face of the Leftist terrorism.

Homan has been in good standing with top Democrats, at least while America was under the Obama regime.

On Monday White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt reminded the public that deportation operations were perfectly acceptable when Democrats such as Barack Obama ran them, pointing out the liberal anti-ICE hypocrisy.
