President Donald Trump is continuing to call out Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome “Too Late” Powell for refusing to lower interest rates despite a booming economy.
In addition to his failure to drop interest rates Powell has been accused of lying to Congress, prompting Trump during a Tuesday White House cabinet meeting to call for his resignation and a congressional investigation.
The Fed chair has been accused of lying to Congress about a $2.5 billion upgrade to the central bank’s headquarters.
Posting to Truth Social later on Tuesday, POTUS cited a study by the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) that found Tariffs “have had ZERO IMPACT on Inflation,” noting it found import prices “are actually DROPPING.”
“The Fake News and the so-called ‘Experts’ were wrong again,” he wrote. “Tariffs are making our Country ‘BOOM.’ Many new Factories, Jobs, and TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS in Investments are pouring into the U.S.A. Someone should show this new Study to ‘Too Late’ Jerome Powell, who has been whining like a baby about non-existent Inflation for months, and refusing to do the right thing. CUT INTEREST RATES JEROME — NOW IS THE TIME!”
Continuing to bash Powell Wednesday morning, the president wrote, “Our Fed Rate is AT LEAST 3 Points too high. ‘Too Late’ is costing the U.S. 360 Billion Dollars a Point, PER YEAR, in refinancing costs. No Inflation, COMPANIES POURING INTO AMERICA. ‘The hottest Country in the World!’ LOWER THE RATE!!!”
“Anybody but ‘Too Late,'” he added.
Meanwhile, the U.S. inflation index is at a very low 1.66% while rates remain uncut.
