Image Credit: ChatGPT Upset Americans say they won’t be paying taxes this year following reports of rampant fraud and abuse of federal programs by illegal alien scam artists and general taxation without representation.
The tax revolt has taken hold on social media, with many influential figures including congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) pledging support for the movement.
The idea appears to have been sparked by Turning Point USA contributor and former Infowars reporter Savanah Hernandez, who made a viral X post Tuesday stating, “F*ck it, I’m not paying taxes this year,” while listing grievances with the federal government.
F*ck it, I’m not paying taxes this year.

And then when the IRS comes after me, I’ll blow that up into a huge national story about how the government will destroy your life over a couple thousand dollars meanwhile the Pentagon just failed their 8th straight audit in a row,…
“And then when the IRS comes after me, I’ll blow that up into a huge national story about how the government will destroy your life over a couple thousand dollars meanwhile the Pentagon just failed their 8th straight audit in a row, Somalis literally come to the U.S. just to defraud us out of billions and illegals are prioritized for section 8 housing and welfare programs over Americans. I’m not paying for it anymore,” she wrote.
Rep. Greene reposted Hernandez, acknowledging, “This is how angry Americans are and rightfully so, with nearly $40 Trillion in debt and Social Security becoming insolvent in 2033. Now imagine if millions of Americans did this.”

Rep. MTG elaborated on the tax revolt trend in a follow-up post the next day, writing, “Almost every Trump voter I see on X is so fed up they are planning a 2026 tax revolt. And rightfully so!”
“It’s because Americans work their asses off, barely make ends meet, and the government consistently gives their hard earned tax dollars to foreign countries, foreign wars, and foreigners the U.S. government has brought/allowed into America! And NOTHING is given to Americans!!!”

Others quickly latched on to the notion, expressing their frustration over systemic taxpayer fraud.

Fraud fatigue is now a very real thing.
People are not only questioning the system, but are completely done with the system and considering not even paying taxes.

“I’ve been working my entire adult life. And I have paid half or more than half back to the government in some way, shape, or form in taxes for the past 30 years,” the man continued..
“And we have a political apparatus where half of them say that ‘If you don’t keep us in power, we will steal from you so that we can import people that will – so shut up and go back to work.’ And another side of the aisle that is either in on it or is totally complete chicken shit and won’t do anything about it and won’t even try to actually represent the people that vote for them.”
“Is anybody else getting into a point where we feel like we cannot vote our way out of this? Where does that leave us? Because nothing is going to happen about the fraud.”
The man concluded by saying, “Accountability and a fucking tax strike is what needs to happen.”
Many other influencers echoed the anti-tax sentiment, with tens of thousands of their followers agreeing that a strike on paying taxes is indeed necessary at this point.
I love the idea of a nationwide tax strike, especially since federal income tax was expressly forbidden in the constitution

The tax revolt’s growing popularity prompted Newsmax host Carl Higbie to ask President Donald Trump on his program Wednesday to consider preemptively pardoning anyone taking part in a nationwide tax strike in 2026.

Calls for a tax strike follow a viral video last month by journalist Nick Shirley documenting suspected fraud at Somali-run daycares in Minneapolis, Minn., as the federal government investigates a Somali network accused of defrauding hundreds of millions from federal programs.
