In a shocking incident in Krefeld on Saturday evening, a car filled with three men plowed into a family while the three suspects were fleeing from an alleged crime.
At 8:40 p.m., a white Peugeot struck a 52-year-old grandmother and a 25-year-old father, along with their two children, aged 1 and 2, while they were standing at a pedestrian crossing. Also present was the 21-year-old mother.
What followed was a scene of horror, with a witness stating: “The car hit the people, parts of a stroller flew in the air, people fell to the ground.”
Instead of stopping, the car sped on, leaving some of the family with serious injuries on the pavement.
The police managed to arrest the occupants of the vehicle, aged 24, 28, and 29, according toBild.
Police say the suspects were involved in a fight before the incident.
One of the occupants was a 28-year-old who was subject of a warrant and arrested on the spot. Investigators are attempting to determine who was driving and whether they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Photos of the arrest were published by Bild, but later taken offline. However, they were preserved by some social media users and appear to show the suspects having a migration background.

Bild spoke with café owner Kerstin Diekers, who said, “People are speeding here without any sense or reason. We’ve been beating down the authorities for years to enforce speed limits.”
Despite a nearby retirement home, a bicycle lane, and a school, there has only been one mobile speed camera deployment.
Eyewitness Thomas Lüttger also saw the incident, saying the Peugeot vehicle “skidded around the corner at high speed shortly before the accident and almost hit a cyclist.”
Emergency services transported the injured family members to the hospital. While the father and baby both had minor injuries and were discharged that night, the grandmother and her two-year-old grandson remain hospitalized for treatment.
As Remix News has noted in a number of past articles, foreigners living in Germany who have been involved in illegal street races have been responsible for a large number of serious injuries, car crashes, and in some cases, even deaths.
