A mass shooting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, Saturday left two dead and multiple people in critical condition, as police launched a manhunt for the suspect.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Saturday with officials issuing a lockdown, shelter-in-place order and telling students to run hide and “FIGHT, as a last resort.”
Providence Police Cmdr. Tim O’Hara described the suspect to reporters, saying, “All I can give you is a male, all dressed in black, right now.”
Police initially reported the suspect had been apprehended, but later redacted the statement, indicating he’s still at-large.
President Donald Trump relayed the faulty details on Truth Social, before issuing a correction.
Trump told reporters he’d been briefed on the situation and that “All we can do right now is PRAY for the victims and for those who were very badly hurt.”
