President Donald Trump has announced he will be posthumously awarding Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and inspiration to millions and millions of people,” said Trump Thursday at the Pentagon during a ‘Remembering 9/11’ ceremony. “We miss him greatly.. I have no doubt Charlie’s voice and courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on.”

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is considered the U.S. government’s highest civilian honor. Awarded by the President, it is often presented to individuals to recognize a lifetime of significant achievements in the arts, public service, science, or other fields.
Last night, Trump addressed the nation just hours after Kirk’s assassination from the Oval Office.
“Charlie was a man of deep faith,” said Trump on the 31-year-old conservative firebrand. “We take peace knowing that he is now with God in heaven.”
“For years, the radical left has compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to NAZlS… this type of language is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for the terrorism we’re seeing in our country today. And it must stop RIGHT NOW!”
“I ask all Americans to commit themselves to the American values for which Charlie Kirk lived & died. The values of free speech, citizenship, the rule of law & the patriotic devotion & love of God.”
