A man named David, who was recently featured in journalist Nick Shirley’s epic video investigating a fraudulent daycare scheme in Minnesota, described how he stumbled upon the criminal operation in a recent interview.

David explained that he first noticed a daycare center near his office never had any kids arriving or leaving and instead had “Somali guys outside smoking cigarettes.”
One day, he decided to pretend he had a grandchild interested in going to daycare at the location near his office and the men became flustered, lied about the facility being full and followed him down the street when he questioned why all the children were absent.
For the next five years, David investigated nearly fifty of daycare locations around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota only to find there are an alarming amount of them raking in millions of dollars each year with no children actually using the services.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Sunday that the daycare fraud is being investigated by the federal government.
