A viral social media video shows a man calling the phone number listed for a Somali daycare, but getting redirected to the office of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D).
In the video that has amassed over 2 million views as of writing, a man calls a phone number listed for the Minneapolis business Sweet Angel Child Care, one of several daycares featured in journalist Nick Shirley’s investigative report.
However, instead of a staff member at the daycare answering, a voicemail recording informs: “Thank you for contacting the Office of Governor Tim Walz. I’m Lieutenant Governor Becky Flanagan. Our office is located at 130 State Capitol 75 Reverend Dr.”

“Why is a child care center directly going to the office of the governor?” the man filming asks, going on to say, “Make it make sense.”
The man’s video comes as controversy has erupted over a network of Somalis in Minneapolis reportedly taking part in a billion-dollar fraud scheme, scamming programs intended to feed children, help autistic kids and aid those in need.

In a bombshell report last week, Shirley attempted to visit daycares to follow up on the allegations, but was denied access. He noted anomalies like windowless buildings, misspelled signs and a lack of children, raising doubts about the legitimacy of the businesses.
