Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) was asked by Lindell TV reporter Allison Steinberg on Tuesday if her party will prioritize the healthcare of illegal aliens over a government shutdown, causing the congresswoman to become extremely frustrated.
“Excuse me, stop it right there. We’re not prioritizing,” Waters said. “What we’re doing is saying simply we want to keep the government open and we want to keep the government open and we want to have a bipartisan agreement to keep this government open.”

When confronted outside the Capitol, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) was asked if Democrats are willing to shut down the U.S. government to prioritize healthcare for illegal immigrants.

Questioned again if Democrats are “demanding healthcare for illegal aliens,” Waters basically answered yes by saying, “Democrats are demanding healthcare for everybody. We want to save lives. We want to make sure that healthcare is available to those who would die but having the help of their government.”
Steinberg responded, “So, you’re good with a government shutdown if it means giving healthcare to people who aren’t American citizens?”
This question triggered Waters, who replied, “You’re standing here and you’re trying to make me say that somehow we’re going to put non-citizens over Americans. Quit it. Stop it. This is the kind of journalism we don’t need. You are divisive!”
President Trump posted a lengthy message to Truth Social last week, slamming the “Minority Radical Left Democrats” for threatening to shut down the government unless they receive over $1 trillion in spending for far-left agendas such as healthcare for illegals.
Listing other policies and projects they’re demanding, Trump wrote, “They are threatening to shut down the Government of the United States unless they can have over $1 Trillion Dollars in new spending to continue free healthcare for Illegal Aliens (A monumental cost!), force Taxpayers to fund Transgender surgery for minors, have dead people on the Medicaid roles, allow Illegal Alien Criminals to steal Billions of Dollars in American Taxpayer Benefits, try to force our Country to again open our Borders to Criminals and to the World, allow men to play in women’s sports, and essentially create Transgender operations for everybody.”
