Comedian and podcast host Bill Maher was joined by Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee and wife of First Son Eric Trump, on his “Club Random” podcast this weekend.
During their lengthy conversation, Maher suggested nobody in America “should feel bad about living in any part of the country where their politics isn’t a majority.”
“I never stop ragging on liberals and woke people, not liberals, I’m a liberal. These people are different for just being fucking snobs. This is the ‘I won’t eat with you at Thanksgiving’ people. This is the ‘no contact’ thing. But lots of liberals wouldn’t be comfortable at a NASCAR rally either,” Maher said, admitting, “Liberals are worse about this, I will admit it, and we have to look in the mirror on that one.”
“I don’t know any conservatives who don’t at least talk,” he added.

Arguing the Trump family has been scrutinized and attacked “more than any family,” Lara disagreed with Maher suggesting the Obamas and Clintons were targeted just as harshly.
The president’s daughter-in-law pointed out the Obama and Clinton residences were never “raided by the FBI” and the ex-presidents were never indicted to be locked up for the remainder of their lives.

On another subject, Maher said he was labeled an “anti-vaxxer” before the COVID pandemic because he publicly spoke out about getting the flu after taking a flu shot.
The comedian also said he believes in the right to choose whether or not to get vaccinated, slamming, “The coercion that went on during COVID.”
Trying to bash the Trump administration’s ongoing deportation efforts, Maher claimed even MAGA supporters are upset that illegals are being targeted at Home Depot instead of ICE prioritizing criminals.
“I hear it, and there’s nothing that feels good about seeing people who had good intentions, generally speaking, leaving our country in this manner. However, we either have rules or we don’t,” Trump said. “We either have laws or we don’t.”
She continued to clarify that the administration is “targeting the worst of the worst,” saying, “They are targeting the gang members, the criminals, the drug dealers, the human traffickers…”
After mentioning human traffickers, Lara noted the Trump administration has saved around 25,000 of the 300,000 children who came into America illegally and went missing under Joe Biden’s tenure as president.
“People who think that there’s some easy fix to this are wrong and it’s very unfortunate,” she went on. “We should have had the laws enforced. You can’t just come here illegally and whenever they’re doing these raids and they’re getting the bad guys…sometimes yes, there are other people who are collateral damage…I’m not saying they’re bad people but they did break the law to come here.”
When Maher again asserted the administration isn’t handling the situation correctly, Lara said, “It’s the nature of the beast, though. Joe Biden let tens of millions of people come over the border illegally and somebody has to be the bad guy and get them out.”

Maher claimed the Trump administration was losing support by not going after the “worst of the worst” and instead hitting “Home Depot” for people who’ve been in the U.S. for a decade.
